Gọt vỏ sake, cắt bỏ phần ruột xốp bên trong. Chia sake thành các miếng lớn, cắt miếng dày khoảng 1 cm. Ngâm vào nước muối pha loãng (tránh cho sake bị thâm). Vớt ra rổ, để ráo.
Pha 100g bột + nước + đường. Khuấy đều, bột sền sệt là đạt (không nên pha bột quá loãng)
Bắt 1 cái chảo chống dính lên bếp, mở lửa lớn. Cho dầu ăn vào, lấy đầu đũa kiểm tra thấy dầu sôi đâm tim, hạ nhỏ lửa lại. Tiếp tục, nhúng sake vào tô bột đã pha, cho vào dầu chiên. Trở đều các mặt, tránh làm cháy sake.
Sau khi chiên xong, ăn kèm với tương ớt. Sẽ cực kì ngon khi chúng ta dùng nóng. Cắn vào miếng sake nóng hổi, vừa thổi, vừa sì sụp vì cay. Sự hòa quyện giữa độ bùi bùi, dẻo dẻo, vị cay nồng, giòn tan ở trong miệng.
